Recently acquired the unknown mentalist's "MASQ" pdf download from
lybrary.com and I am NOT disappointed! It's exactly what I hoped for. Great little PDF booklet - which does what it says.

Got this just a couple of hours back. Read the instructions in my lunch break. And performed to a couple of my colleagues. It went very well. Firstly, a digital or soft book test is the future, I think. Especially for informal occasions. And this one packs a punch. I did the first n last paragraphs. The "letter ploy" employed here is brilliant. The method is so clean and flexible with multiple approaches. This one earned a permanent place on my phone.

Pollyanna is a new thing I discovered after I read this pdf. Very nice presentational hook. I especially enjoy performing Wax Novelist and Conjured Tomb - they create a big impact with almost nothing - all you need is a single die, either with you or with your participant, in person or online. This is top level thinking. The card reveal in the 3rd routine is real cool. The routines using colors and planets are a great combo of simplicity and impact - all using a single die. And the acaan idea using just the single die and a deck of cards looks good, although I am yet to try it out. Overall a great set of routines using just a single die.

This is so very good. Kind of overwhelming for me. At its heart this is a force matrix. But I never could've imagined that it can be presented in such a clever and diabolic manner. Performed it a few times so far and thoroughly enjoyed it.

All I can say is that this is AMAZING!!! I pretty much guessed how this would work because I have bought plenty of other items from THE UNKNOWN MENTALIST but again, THIS EFFECT IS AMAZING. You need to memorize the script by heart which shouldn't be too difficult. When you are done doing that you will definitely floor the sceptics because there doesn't seem like they have given you any information (WHICH THEY HAVEN'T), and yet, you come up with the country they are thinking of. My own thinking is to do this anywhere with people and then later time you can scribble down your thoughts on a clipboard with a prompter list and pull off one of the effects in the GROW DEVILS effect. Since you do this effect propless and a person might witness it they won't think you're cheating in any way with that effect either. I give this A 10 + RATING !!!
Not to change the subject, but, if you do any type of stage or parlor or stage mentalism, BUY the index / PEEK WALLET, THE UNKNOWN MENTALIST IS SELLING. I personally don't have it, but I do have two LARY BECKER's VERSADEX WALLETS at home. When I did shows, years ago before retiring, I used these wallets. They were and are GREAT!!! Imagine a person simply thinks of a word and it's definition in a dictionary and the mentalist writes down his thoughts and they are identical...OR, imagine a spectator thinking of their STAR SIGN, and selects a playing card and the mentalist actually has a prediction on a billet which is 100 % accurate. I have had people actually GASP, when I did either of these effects and I'm sure THE UNKNOWN MENTALIST has equal effects with his BILLET INDEX WALLET. Also, if you still want more effects with THE UNKNOWN MENTALISTS' WALLET, BUY LARRY BECKERS STUNNERS EBOOK from LYBRARY.COM, It will have all the effects that Larry Becker produced, along with their instructions for his products, including the VERSADEX WALLET and many others. Also many other great effects are in the STUNNERS EBOOK. It is worth having. Sorry for this lengthy lecture but I hate to see someone NOT to have this material. It is a GOLDMINE of wealthy INFORMATION!!!
WELL DONE UNKNOWN MENTALIST!!!

I was on a flight from Dusseldorf to Dubai when I read this manuscript. And as soon as I finished reading, I tried the first routine (Propless Cartomancy) on my co-passenger who was seated adjacent to me. And I revealed to her that she was thinking of herself as being "Sympathetic". She freaked out and I loved it. I will be keeping this in my go to arsenal of quick propless effects for repeated use.

I have been performing a version of Bob Cassidy's Chronologue with my own set of handwritten diaries for the past several years. So I was intrigued how Chronologue can be made 'Propless' and picked this up - and happy that I did. Using his own birthday, a helper arrives at a playing card - this process is basic and brilliant. Nothing is spoken or written down - everything is done in his head by the helper. And you can reveal the lucky card directly without fishing. I will be using this. Especially as a follow up to my regular Chronologue routine.

Usually, I tend to forget the process in propless routines if I do not perform that routine regularly. But this one is an exception, I feel. The process here is simple, direct and difficult to forget once you understand the underlying principle. The theme of travel and countries is both interesting and relatable. I tried the first routine (Argentina) on a colleague today and it worked like a charm.

It's quite expensive for the principle that this trick is based on; nothing groundbreaking for the price. i.e. It's overpriced. The book only teaches one single fundamental base. Then, if you need variations and ideas, you have to pay the same amount for the extra books.
(For the total price of all books in the series, you're better off spending money on Bob Farmer's Bammo Gridlock Dossier. It goes through the principle that this category of trick is based on, although more table space is required. If you're creative, you can adapt it to a smaller setup. Also, it is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY comprehensive, with lots of creative variations on employing the principle. Good for your money especially if you're a beginner.)

A good idea in theory... Starts with a math/maths procedure to get to a "random" number, even then you might have to do some fishing to get the correct zodiac sign. With some practice, it looks good, but sometimes it seems a bit long-winded.

The kernel of the method is very interesting, but the procedure currently involves clumsy equivoque at step one. Participants also need to be quite alert and literate (i.e. can spell well in their heads) – or cards with the keywords on them need to be provided (make sure you get them back). I think it needs more work on the scripting at step one: there must be a solution. It nevertheless receives “Notable Mention” in Unbiased Magic Reviews, Top 5 Propless Mentalism Effects Part II. Perhaps David has refined the procedure successfully. I can see why a disappointed reviewer here has awarded one star only, and this was my immediate feeling on the first page. However, I think there’s certainly some potential… 3.5 stars from me on the trick as it stands: toss a coin whether to round up or down. I'm glad I bought it at a half-price sale though, which makes it better value for money and thus four stars.

A force I was not familiar with. I prefer not using last letters. The 3 force cards could be marked and a label cue list put under a hinged lid of a case to hold the cards. There are a lot of options. At $6 introductory price it is good. I do not think $12 would be since Annemann's book 202 Methods of forcing is about $8 in print form. The 3/5 force Max Maven is obsessed with also uses the same number of cards and only has a 2-way out. Not 3 outcomes. But a professional mentalist could use it. They probably already know it. Recommended but not strongly.

I really like The Unknown Mentalist's stuff and must have purchased and performed a half-dozen of his effects, but this one is going to the "369” force one too many times. It's getting a bit stale, to be honest, after some of the nice effects based on it in his earlier work.
Also, there are just two many math steps the spectator has to perform -- adding, counting, and other operations which certainly aren't difficult in themselves, but one slip-up on their part and the whole effect falls apart.

Took forever to get the page on my phone. Great idea. Too confused as to why so many letters or words are used for the changing effect. I do not understand it. This should be a video download. But the effect sounds good. How many people have candles out anyway? Should I carry small candles to give away? A lighter is easier. That is the main reason I could not give a higher rating. The red and black letters don't even show up on my phone easy. I do not have a computer or WI-Fi in my area. So I am extremely limited in what I can explore. Why I prefer actual books. They don't freeze up or disappear when my signal goes out. I never get more than 2 bars.

This product, if it is not known to you, is akin to having a personal coach. And a very good coach at that. I've read it through a few times. And then I refer to it often. It gives you material to make a checklist to tick off everyday in order to exercise your mind. And I've found that although it'd probably be ideal to say, yes, I can always tick off all 13 points, it is still valuable that you have the satisfaction to pursue those that you can. I recommend this to anyone who loves to see their life as full of possibilities and loves to like it like the challenge that our lives are.
