An effect by Paul Gordon performed by Aldo Colombini. You show some Jokers. The backs of the cards are red. One Joker with a big X on its back is placed among the cards and now all the cards have a big X on their backs. One card with a big O on its back is placed among the cards and now all the cards have big O’s on their backs. Finally, the cards are all back to normal. The big surprise comes when five cards are turned over and a letter appears on each card spelling the word MAGIC (or any other message, a Royal Flush, etc).

You will need five blank-faced cards.

This effect is a variation of an effect called ACAT (Any Card At Any Time), extracted from CLUE ebook. It can be presented with playing cards, or special cards (like the Vernet PSImbol deck, or movies (like Directors's cut or Screen test), French postcards, etc.), or just with blank index cards or your own business cards (with drawings, symbols, words, numbers, etc. on the back). The spectator chooses one of many questions written on a piece of paper and places it into a small box. Upon summoning...

This is a revised version of the classic Parade Of The Kings packet trick from the 1970s.

Four blue-backed cards are counted face down and the performer explains that these are the four Kings. Two spectators between them decide on one of the Kings. Immediately the magician spreads the cards to reveal the chosen King has now magically turned face up.

But there is a further surprise when the back of this King is shown to have also now changed to red.

Then there is a final kicker when the other three face-down Kings are turned face up to reveal they are in fact three blank-faced cards...

The performer shows a blue deck of cards and has a card freely selected from the face up deck. There is no force. He has a participant sign his name on the face of the card. This signed-card is then placed into a window envelope. The audience can see the BLUE back of the card through the glassine window. This envelope is propped up and left in full view. The performer introduces a BLANK FACE card that has a RED back; this is examined by the participant and found to be ungimmicked. This blank face card is placed inside a second window envelope so the red back shows through the glassine window....
