Brian T. Lees

Brian brings over 50 years of experience to the stage. His shows play to all ages and he has made his mark as a highly skilled entertainer. The music, comedy and storytelling in his "Mysteries of Magic" show will leave you talking about it for a very long time. He knows the secret of capturing an audience and leading them through a magical journey.

Through his training materials Brian introduces magicians to the craft, skills and tools needed to work in front of an audience. It makes no difference how expensive your magic is, how great you are with slight-of-hand or manipulations. Your entertainment factor rests entirely on the audience. If they are not entertained you will not be viewed well as a performer.

Brian has presented numerous lectures on performance, working with music and show development to various clubs and organizations. His helpful articles have been published in both clown and magic industry magazines. Endorsements he received echo his goal of meeting magicians where they are and providing training to help take their performance to the next level.

Brian has won first place in group competition (Felix Adler Days, Clinton, IA) He placed second in stage competition (2012) third in competition (2015), second in stage competition (2016) by IBM Ring # 11 (QCMC), and third in stage competition (2017) by IBM Ring # 11 (QCMC)

All Brian’s training materials are available as lectures. For more information, or to discuss lectures for your organization or convention feel free to email: [email protected]

Working on Stage by Brian T. Lees

From the Preface:

An actor who has always been an inspiration to me once said:

"There are plenty of $400 magicians out there who are only worth $75 and there are plenty of $75 magicians out there that should charge $400."

That is a harsh, cold but very true fact. They all have the skills and potential. Still some do not take their performances up to the levels they should. The ending result is an audience that only gets parts of their show. The cheap $400 magicians shut out part of their audience. They do not allow the entire audience to listen to what they say. And they have serious...

Now for my next trick..... Ladies and gentlemen watch as I take this silk...... And now, right before your eyes I will...... For my next trick......

Trade Show Work by Brian T. Lees

Trade and themed shows take place all year long. If you have been to these types of shows you know people usually just stroll the aisle and only walk in when they want to pick up something free (candy), have an interest in the service/product or have questions. The magician's job is to catch people's attention and draw them in. As you work with people, staff members will join the conversation. At one point, you pass them to the staff member. Then you move on and work at bringing more people into the vendor's...

Timing by Brian T. Lees

One of the most important elements of a performance. Without allowing time for the audience to comprehend the magician is doing nothing more than running through a series of instruction steps. Time adds drama, energy and the sizzle needed to enhance magic.

Timing is a hard subject to cover. One does not learn from books or lectures. Those sources, like this text, help identify the value of time. The magician must acquire his/her own skills with the use of time.

This text will help identify how it is used, provide examples you can relate to, and get you started. Armed with this knowledge...
