How To Do 60 Tricks with Cards by A. Anderson

Embracing all of the latest and most deceptive card tricks now in use.

Excerpt from the introduction:

From the earliest ages the Magic Art has been highly popular among all classes; and, of its many marvels, Card Tricks, whether produced by sleight of hand, mathematical combinations, or mechanical means, are the most generally appreciated. Cards are to be found in nearly every home circle, so the prestidigitateur always has his principal tools at his finger ends. With them alone the most startling surprises can be caused, and the card conjurer has also the advantage of knowing that all his...

Strange Command by J. Stewart Smith

Excerpt from the Foreword:

This book is intended for those men who have made a study of card magic. To be magic, the viewers are unaware of the use of any methods ... the effect apparently just happens and the performer seems to be only an instrument of the supernatural. Certain death to magic follows any contraventions of these principles.

Mark Leveridge
Beating the Odds by Mark Leveridge

A deck of cards becomes a stable of 52 horses. The horses are shuffled by a spectator and the deck is placed down. The performer then writes down the name of one of the horses on a pad and places it sight unseen in view on the table. This is a prediction of a horse that he believes will win an imaginary race in a few moments time.

Spreading the deck, a spectator is invited to touch one at a time completely at random seven horses. These are removed and held in a pile. He then selects any number from one to seven. Using the chosen number, horses are eliminated in the pile one by one until...

Aldo Colombini
Grasshopper Cards by Aldo Colombini

You place the Ace, Two, Three and Four of Clubs on the table in a square formation as is typically done with matrix-type effects. You cover two cards with two jumbo cards. One by one all the cards assemble under one jumbo card.

You try to repeat the 'assembly' without the jumbo cards but the regular cards do not move. You turn over three cards and they are seen to be all blank. The other card is the 10 of Clubs, the sum of all the cards!

[Note: Aldo originally included the three necessary blank cards and the two jumbo cards. This download does not include these cards. You will have to supply them yourself.]

Inside Job by Mark Leveridge

A small envelope with a hole cut from its address side is examined. A deck of blank-faced cards is then freely displayed and one blank card is openly slid into the envelope which is left in view.

From a regular deck, a spectator touches the back of any card. Let's say it is the 6C. This card is waved over the envelope and when the previously blank card is slid out it is seen to have now printed itself to match the selected 6C.

Eric F. Impey
Original Card Mysteries by Eric F. Impey

Excerpt from the Foreword:

The majority of the effects described in this book are absolutely new, and require a minimum amount of skill. I have been using many of them for a considerable time, and they are all original with me, except one. So I sincerely hope that others will not "invent" them in a few months time.

In this publication, Impey describes how to wax together pairs of cards, a technique that Dai Vernon would later refine with rough-and-smooth to create his famous Brainwave deck. Judson Brown is generally credited with inventing the basic brainwave-type effect using Impey's waxed cards...

Having mixed the positions of the three cards, the one that should be the QH is opened to reveal it is in fact one of the blanks. That’s surprise no. 1. Surprise no. 2 comes when the other two cards are unfolded to reveal they are both blanks as well! The QH has completely disappeared. But there is a further surprise when the back of this King is shown to have also now changed to red.

Then there is a final kicker when the other three face-down Kings are turned face up to reveal they are in fact three blank-faced cards...

Trance Fusion by Peter Duffie

The two Jokers are removed from the deck. Two cards are then selected. One by one the selections are placed between the Jokers and are then stretched to twice their length.

Now, both cards are placed between the Jokers after which they fuse into one examinable two-faced card that can be given to the spectator as a keepsake.

Finally the other cards are tossed onto the table and are seen to have become totally blank!

Based on brilliant ideas by Peter Kane, Richard Kaufman, David Arthur & Gene Maze, this is a killer. Watch the demo below.

Kolor Killer by Peter Duffie

Roy Walton's Classic Oil & Queens on Speed!

The basis for this multi-climax routine is Roy Walton’s Oil & Queens. In the mid 70’s Peter developed a variation on the original Walton effect whereby the cards turned blank at the end. However, Jon Racherbaumer beat him to the punch when he published the same variation. The following routine is based on the blank routine but has an additional kicker stage that was not in any previous version. Peter has also added Kings to match the Queens. Also, there is no Hamman Count in this version.

In Turbulence, the impossible becomes possible.

Turbulence is a multi-phase card routine that is both mind-bending and entertaining.

Effect:

Turbulence kicks off with a sizzling and super clean "Collectors" phase where four Kings instantly collect three previously signed cards. Then, in the blink of an eye, the three cards instantly vanish. The three cards are then reproduced as they are summoned from the deck one by one. You offer to present a magic show using seven cards. You show an Ace, Two, Three and Four plus three Jokers. The A 2 3 & 4 are the performers. The Ace, you say, is the lightest card because it has the least ink on it, whereas the Four is the heaviest. The lightest card — the Ace — is placed into the Joker packet and it instantly rises to the top. You now add the Two to the Ace and place both cards into the Joker packet — both...

Utterly Wild by Peter Duffie

The ultimate ungaffed wild card - use any deck.

The original version of this routine was called Born to be Wild (from Inspirations). Peter has enjoyed performing the original over the years, for lay people AND magicians, but the fact that he couldn't show the last card always bothered him. You were left with a face-to-face double that had to be dropped onto the deck and a triple lift executed to finish. Going back to the deck for a finish is never good! But this has now changed ...

This new version changes that. You are now left with a single court card for a clean and powerful finish. There is also...
