These are two mentalism/bizarre routines from Shane's book Pentalogy.

The End of the World as We Know It
Is the old "triple prediction" plot, but turned upside down. In this routine, the spectator predicts the exact date and method of the end of the world. Yes, it really is as weird as it sounds.

Bones, Modern and Cold
Combines cold-reading through an easily-learned (and unique) divination system with a classic sleight-of-hand trick to drive home the real purpose of divination and fortune-telling.

This is a magic square effect where spectators freely enter numbers in the main diagonal and you quickly fill out the rest of the numbers producing a perfect magic square.

Alternatively you could perform this the classic way that a spectator calls out a number and you fill in all the numbers to form a magic square. But the effect is stronger if your audience can freely choose not just the sum but several numbers in the square. In a variation Werner shows you how spectators can even select the squares where you should next enter a number during your fill-out sequence.

This is a mathematical based effect you do on the back of your business card that the spectator gets to keep and take home with them. Very easy to perform.

The effect was created by Raj Madhok and was originally published in Syzygy.

A spectator chooses three numbers, one related to the future, one related to the past and the third one related to the present. These are added up and match your prediction.

Predict a matched pair from a spectator shuffled deck. The deck can be freely shuffled and cut as often as the spectator wishes.

The methodology is somewhat involved because you need a billet index, a gimmicked envelope, and a marked deck. You could do without the gimmicked envelope but the rest you will need. Nevertheless, the effect is strong.

Before the show you mail or give a spectator an envelope for safe keeping. At the show the spectator opens the envelope to find another smaller envelope inside. In this smaller envelope are three little pieces of paper. On these pieces of paper the performer recorded three dreams a few days earlier. The performer's dreams match the front page of today's newspaper as well as two spectator's thoughts.

Let's say the spectator chooses the number five and chooses with that the 4 of diamonds. No force required, the spectator has a FREE choice (like the effect name).

Now you open the card box (which was lying on the table) and all cards are blank (or white whatever you want to call them) except for one, the card the spectator chose. The blank cards can be properly investigated by the spectator.
