Literally hundreds if not thousands of card moves have been developed over time. You won't need to learn all of them, but any card man of name has in each basic move category (palm, control, false shuffle, false cut, false deal, glimpse, flourish, force, ...) one or two strong moves ready to use.

Once you have a solid grounding in the basic moves pretty much any card trick is accessible to you.

Practicing moves can have a zen like quality to it. Some achieve a naturalness similar to a musician, dancer or juggler. It looks effortless, but it can take thousands of hours of practice....

Al Koran convinced Rovi that it was the easy-to-follow plot with a strong magical impact for which there appeared to be no explanation, that had the greatest impression on audiences. Rovi has followed that dictum with great success, devising routines of his own, all of which are styled to entertain. Those readers who expect to have to learn difficult sleights or memorize long sequences of moves, can breathe a sigh of relief. Rovi's magic is not like that, it is based on simplicity and subtlety.

A card is chosen, travels to the pocket, but turns out to be the wrong card. Visibly 'flick' the diamonds off of the wrong card. They flutter to the floor, leaving you holding the selection.

This is of intermediate difficulty. You will need to be able to force and control a card to the top. And you will also need to do a top change. No palming required.

You ask the spectator to name any card that they like. No force is involved and it truly is a completely free choice. You then hand them your phone which has the Google search engine on the screen ready for the magic to happen. you ask them to type "what is my card?" or something similar into Google and hit the "Google search" button.

Now watch as their face drops. Google has not only told them what card they freely thought off but it has also brought up a full page full of search results linked to the card. They can even go into the images section and be greeted with pages of image results...

'Card to Box' meets 'Deck to Pocket' in this insanely visual transpostion.

The Effect: You remove the deck from its case and have a spectator freely choose any card - no force - and sign it across the face. You then place the card case into your pocket before losing the signed card back into the centre of the deck. With a snap of your fingers you claim that you have made the card jump to your pocket and appear inside the card case. Your audience doesn't believe you. But, with a totally empty hand you reach into your pocket and produce...the entire deck. The spectator turns his attention back...
