Joseph Dunninger has often been credited with saying. "Every time you add a prop to your act your price goes down." His reasoning should be obvious - every additional prop takes the illusion one step away from what "real mind reading" would look like. Gibson’s interest in magic began at an early age, when in 1905 at the age of 8 he was given a trick box.

During the 1920s Gibson’s output was prolific. In total he produced 6,800 daily articles that appeared at a rate of 680 a year, including "After Dinner Tricks", "A Puzzle a Day", Magic Made Easy and others. Additionally he wrote weeklies, ghosted books for Thurston and released several books under his own name - in total he wrote 187 books.

This is a wonderfully readable and fascinating description of magic and its history. Written by one of the scholars of magic - John Mulholland. Ben Robinson, the expert on John Mulholland whom he researched for more than 30 years, writes in his introduction to this ebook:

This was Peter Duffie's first solo book published on the heels of his hugely successful Alternative Card Magic and Contemporary Card Magic.

It includes mostly card routines with a couple of coin routines sprinkled in for good measure. The effects are not difficult to do and can be classified as intermediate. Some routines require palms, half passes and riffle passes.

It is a joy if one can study the early creative output of one of the most accomplished card magician alive today.

Since Uri Geller began bending spoons back in the 70's, this metal bending skill has fascinated all magicians and mentalists as well as captivating any audiences that bear witness to it.

Two coins are picked from a handful of change and held at finger tips, the spectator selects one and holds that in their hand, the performer begins to concentrate and gently wave the coin he is left with.
