Tony Griffith

Tony Griffith... has lectured at The Magic Castle six times and has presented his Close Up Magic there over 100 times.

He has written widely on the subject of magic and his articles have appeared in such magic magazines as The Gen, Magigram, New Tops, LaBal, Magicseen, The Magic Circular, Abracadabra, Magicana, Genii and The Linking Ring. He has appeared on the front covers of Abracadabra, New Tops, The Linking Ring and Genii.

These are the lecture notes for a lecture Charlie Miller gave at Magic Inc. in 1967. He offers great insight into the art of magic, presentation, routining and audience management. He also teaches several great tricks.

Also included is a six page essay by Roberto Giobbi titled "Charlie Miller's Wisdom". (This essay originally appeared in two installments within my column "The Genii Session" in Genii - The Conjuror's Magazine, May and July 2005. It appears here in a slightly revised form and in agreement with Richard Kaufman and his Genii Corporation.)

(Benny) Ben Harris

(Benny) Ben Harris... was used by Doug Henning, released as a magical toy by Tenyo, adapted by Disney, and remains a top-selling dealer item almost 35 years later.

From 1985-1996 Harris toured extensively (visiting 36 countries), lecturing and teaching his magical inventions.

Ben has written over 40 books on magic (most recently, Silent Running, Mentallica, and A Thought Well Stolen), as well as penning material for Apocalypse, The Magic Circular, Genii, Penthouse, The Skeptical Inquirer and High Times magazines.

He lives with his wife in a sunny corner of the Antipodes and, using a variety of pseudonyms, also writes professionally in other genres including, Alternate Lifestyles and Science Fiction/Adventure.

The Complete Page Wright Manuscript

The Complete Page Wright Manuscript by T. Page Wright... But it is perhaps even more exciting to unearth less well known but equally deserving items. They are certainly here and awaiting discovery.

After Wright's untimely death, Mr. Larsen mined the manuscript for additional contributions to The Sphinx and, starting in 1936, for his own publication, Genii. But, reading the manuscript in its original form, in toto, gives us a portrait of Wright the performer, and for the era itself, we could not get from reading the articles piecemeal.

This edition is based on a complete carbon copy of the original typewritten manuscript, 275 numbered typewritten...

Eric C. Lewis

Eric C. Lewis...The Masque as house organ 1947-48 (2 issues).

Memoir is Fifty Years of Magic (3 vols: 1980, 1981, 1983, 213+254+237pp), informally known from their subtitles as "The Miracles Trilogy". Illustrator of his own books as well as those by others. Wrote over 200 articles for various magazines including Abra, Genii, and Linking Ring.

 

Van Cleve

Van Cleve... Francisco's Renaissance Pleasure Faire. A prolific inventor of magic, his creations include GagBag, the color-changing bag, used by wizards the world over. As a magical author, his writings include Weird Magic, the "How To Look Your Best...." section of Magic, Inc.'s Success Book, and articles in Genii, Tops, and the Linking Ring, magazines for conjurers.

Under the obvious pseudonym of Cleve Haubold, Ph.D., he has some two dozen plays published by Samuel French, Inc., New York, and produced worldwide. His most popular scripts include such unlikely titles as The Big Black Box and The Mice Have Been Drinking.

As a college professor Dr. Haubold has taught theatre arts and directed plays...
