Effect: The performer displays a 12-month wall calendar. Each of the 366 days (Leap Year has been accounted for) has a single playing card assigned to it. No two days in each month has the same card assigned to it. So, for example, a month with 31 days in it contains 31 different cards. It is also pointed out that no one card appears more than once on any particular date. So the card that is assigned to the 15th of January is not found on the 15th of any other month.

A spectator is asked to call out any date that comes to mind. Suppose the date in June 5th. Now, another spectator is asked...

A really strong piece of mentalism that is impromptu and can be performed literally in every single performing situation is not too easy to find. This, however, fits the bill beautifully.

Effect: The mentalist places a business card onto the table. The audience is told that there is a prediction underneath the business card, but that it will not be shown to them until later. Nick Trost's "Eight Card Brainwave" is a classic and killer effect. That effect was the starting point for David when "Theta Waves" was in an embryonic state. This offering from David Devlin is an incredible mentalism act for the stage that begins with a really cool chair test and a two-phase Three Card Monte using jumbo cards in which the spectators "throw" the cards. Even though the spectators are throwing the Monte while the mentalist's back is turned completely away from the on-stage spectators and can be legitimately blindfolded, he is always able to find the queen!

Three envelopes are introduced; the contents of which are unknown for the moment. The envelopes are laid out in a row according to the direction of a spectator. Once the envelopes are in place, the audience is told that each envelope contains money; two bills per envelope.   A number is thought of by a spectator and written upon a business card. This card is slid face down into the magician's wallet and the wallet closed so that there is no way for the magician to see what is written.

  The magician hones in on the spectator's thoughts and commits to what he thinks by writing it on a business...

Some random letters are chosen to make up the initials of a fictional character out of the performer's sight. A name could be thought of from these letters, this will never be written down; it's in the mind of the spectator.
