This is a great collection of tricks from a list of top-notch contributors.
From the introduction:
For six years, Al and I cooperated in a modest venture titled The New Jinx. It was a monthly magic journal conceived out of certain personal ambitions of mine. The first was to attempt a living memorial to the memory of Ted Annemann, creator of the original Jinx and an individual who has captured my interest more than any other single person I can think of. Next, I wanted to express my own personal viewpoints on the existing state of "professionalism" in stage magic and mentalism....
I sat down and described, in detail, fifteen of my favorite effects and routines with ordinary cards. Effects that you can do anywhere, any time, with any deck and under almost any conditions. Of the fifteen, only four begin with the standard "pick a card" opening.
I've used the same format as I used in Close-Up Card Magic and Personal Secrets - that is, I've gone directly into the method and presentation in most cases. And - since I usually write an effect in one sitting, I most often come up with a thought or two after it is written. Therefore, the "Afterthoughts."...
Probably the best book on dove magic. Teaches care and feeding of doves, types of cages, presentation pointers, conditioning the audience, etc. Along with many fine dove effects such as The Floating Dove, Dove Tray Production, Egg to Dove, Production Dove Cage. An appendix contains Slydini's Master Dove Production. Illustrated with drawings and photos.
With few exceptions, the published data available on hypnotism is either too weighty with scientific theory, if a serious work, or it contains too much fakery, if stage hypnotic demonstrations are being described. It is this author's purpose to condense the latest and best methods and ideas into easy understandable language, so that the lay person may have before him an easy-to-follow, compact summary of the art.
Within the pages of this volume, the reader will find many effects which may easily be incorporated into a program of exposes, or as part of a manipulative act. None of the effects discussed in the first section require sleights more difficult than the double lift. Many a performer will want to credit the occurrences to his own skill - even though none is involved. While at no time should the Lecturer attribute the happenings to "magic", a fairly plausible cause is sleight-of-hand.

Included in Section II of this volume, I have given the reader an illustrated...
You will not only learn how to float balls but many other objects, including balloons, boxes, bulbs, blocks, eggs, kites, puppets, canes, cards, microphones, telephones, heads, hats, hands, horns, ...
This is not to be considered an encyclopedia on napkin folding, it is the fulfillment of the Author's desire to preserve for the future some of the most interesting of the napkin folds with his own illustrations and descriptions.
These folds have been gathered from all over the world. Some are the Author's creation, but the majority of them appear to be in the public domain, and of this latter group the author has made an honest effort to trace the origin of the different folds, and in every case they seem to be lost in antiquity.
This is a funny patter and presentation routine, with which the author has been bringing down the house. You patter along with magical solutions of all the problems confronting the U. S. Government, war, peace, employment, hunger, G.I.'s, housing, ...
It is flexible enough for you to use the tricks that you already own, or add almost anything you like.
Patent Pending describes an "act" in which the magician is introduced to his audience as an "incredible inventive genius" who is devoting his time to helping to win the war but is, sad to relate, somewhat "screwy." The performer...
A reel is a tool which enables many surprising effects: Cards will rise, silks will come to life, small items will vanish, and more.
Albenice reveals his famous Serpent Silk, wherein a scarf, twisted rope fashion and tied in a knot visibly unties itself. More than 25 different effects are described, including penetrations, color changes, knot effects, and much more.
Also in the Addenda will be found the complete manuscript of "The Penetrable Silk" by Spalding, which was originally published in The Sphinx in the form of a series of articles. Spalding independently developed a whole series of penetration...
Spectator merely thinks of a card. Two packs of cards are dealt face-up simultaneously, and spectator discovers that the card he thought of is in the exact same position in both decks.
Based on an effect by Tom Bowyer who first conceived the intriguing idea of having two decks of cards dealt in unison for the purpose of arriving at a duplicate set of cards.
The first and most exceptional definitive study ever written on the Wild Card.
The classic miracle of the century and forerunner of all packet tricks is the Wild Card. Many of the routines have been closely guarded and found print for the very first time in this publication. Within the confines of these covers you will find revolutionary new routines, ideas and show stopping effects which are diabolically different, superbly written and magnificently illustrated.
When Frank Garcia speaks, all magicians listen. When Frank Garcia writes, everyone reads his books. When they see Frank Garcia...
