Doug McGeorge
Aether #3: Rimm Ramm Ree by Doug McGeorge

Gregg Webb & Doug McGeorge
Aether #5: Ink Flight 2 by Gregg Webb & Doug McGeorge

The very first issue of "Aether" featured an exploration of Gregg's "Ink Flight" effect. The concept is stunning: a spectator's signature travels across space to appear on a selected card. This all-new version enables you to accomplish this miracle with sleight of hand and simpler props (with credits to Ed Brown). Required are:

  • A one-way forcing deck
  • A set of double-blank cards
  • A Sharpie

Hand-lettered text with illustrations by Gregg Webb.

Gregg Webb
Aether #16: Traveling Thru the Hand by Gregg Webb

Three cards magically penetrate your hand one by one. Gregg worked out other solutions to this problem in his earlier ebooks, but they all used four cards. This is a streamlined version with only three cards. He suggests using Ace, 2, and 3 spot cards.

Gregg Webb
Triplets 2 by Gregg Webb

In this second installment of Triplets, which is an all-cards issue, Gregg describes a new variation of a card change of Jimmy Groppo's. Jimmy was the glad-hander of one of the casinos in Vegas and would do very direct magic effects for the customers.

Next are some very strong tips and additions to a trick called the Repeat Card to Pocket. At the end, Gregg explains how to do this feat with a signed selection.

Lastly, Gregg explains how to solve some of the common problems of a move called The Misdirection Palm. Many beginners make the same mistakes with this move and miss the point....

Gregg Webb
Triplets 4 by Gregg Webb

In this, the second all-cards issue, of Triplets, Gregg Webb describes some old and some new in the news section, including a review of a rather old book Gregg thinks has good patter ideas for poker-themed card tricks, and some others that are quite recent, and a few things that are yet to come out but will soon.

Next Gregg describes a novel vanish of a card for standup manipulators, and then a card trick based on Schrödinger's Cat theory (from quantum mechanics), and a very direct new incarnation of Real Gone Aces, called Real Gone Queens, which includes a way to do it as Real Gone Jokers. ...

N.I. Pectus
An Explanation of the Ambitious Card Routine by N.I. Pectus

Sounds trivial right? Why should a magician not know how the ambitious card routine is done?

With this ebook I attempt to give some clothing to the ACR we all know because it seems naked sometimes to me. And still keeping the setup to the maximal minimum - a deck of cards. You will get a tasty reframe that strengthens not only the intra-connection of the elements in the ACR but also the inter-connection the ACR has to the effects performed around it. Another thing you will get is a simple sleight that allows you to show the ambitious card and without doing any sleights after it, it still...

Erivan Vazquez
A Few Principles and Deceptions for Card Magic by Erivan Vazquez

After more than one year and a half of planning, programming and thinking over and over about details, my third release is here. For this occasion, I'm sharing with you three effects along with some really cool phone applications. These are the effects found in the ebook:

THE PERFECT LOCATION: You place a red card as a prediction in a blue deck. A spectator selects a freely chosen card from the same blue deck and replaces it in a random position of his choice. The deck is divided into two and you take cards simultaneously from each packet. When you get to your prediction card (the red card),...

S. W. Erdnase
The Expert at the Card Table by S. W. Erdnase

Originally entitled Artifice Ruse and Subterfuge at the Card Table, is probably the most cited and referenced book about card gambling moves - a classic in the history of magic literature. A must read for any card magician or aspiring gambling expert and an indespensable reference book. While the authorship of this book is hotly debated we are convinced it was Edward Gallaway. (For a detailed work on the search for Erdnase see Hurt McDermott's Artifice, Ruse & Erdnase.)

[A copy of this book is also included in Michael McDougall's Card Mastery. This ebook is also available in a German translation.

Jean Hugard & Fred Braue
The Royal Road to Card Magic by Jean Hugard & Fred Braue

The younger generation of card magicians probably knows or has heard of Card College by Roberto Giobbi. The Royal Road to Card Magic is very similar but of older vintage and doesn't cover as much ground. It introduces the novice into the art of card magic one move and principle at a time, always with tricks accompanying the moves. It is therefore not a mindless list of moves but a well prepared and thought out textbook. It will take the beginner to an intermediate level. Once The Royal Road to Card Magic has been mastered one can move on to Expert Card Technique which requires a higher skill level.

Actually because Expert Card Technique did not sell well...

"Outs" Precautions and Challenges by Charles H. Hopkins

This is truly a hidden gem - a lost treasure. Very few know of its existence and you will encounter almost no references to it. When you read this you will ask yourself: "Why isn't this work known by every cardician?" Some of those who have read it value it as much as they value Erdnase. Others would not trade all card books published in the last 10 years for it.

It is an immensely practical work dealing with situations when something goes wrong, or you face difficult spectators. You'll never again be afraid to try out a new trick, even if they literally see what you do, even if they really catch...

Master of the Game by David Britland

Master of the Game is an amazing poker prediction which can be performed totally impromptu, with a spectator shuffled deck and with essentially no sleight-of-hand unless you consider crimping a card sleight-of-hand.

Imagine the following. A spectator shuffles an ordinary deck, perhaps his own. The performer tells of a strange dream in which he and the spectator played a simple game of cards. Furthermore, the performer has set down the details of the dream on a slip of paper which is sealed inside and envelope. The envelope is placed on the table where it remains for the rest of the routine. ...
