This is a fun routine that first appeared in Allan's Magic Mafia book. It is based on a Dai Vernon plot from the 60s. However, a typical 'all backs' routine requires many moves - half passes and double lifts. Here Allan has engineered a routine with a lot less moves. You could even do this routine while maintaining a stacked deck.

You show a deck that consists of cards that have backs printed on the front and back. This changes then to faces on both sides of the cards until everything goes back to normal.

A box is given to anyone you want (the chief of police, the major, a TV producer, etc.) This box is sealed and it will be opened some days later. The box will never be touched again by you or anybody else involved in the stunt.

The day that the prediction will be opened, lets say you are performing at the radio while there are live people waiting to see the box opened, you ask the radio audience to call in to the radio station, they will be taking part in a mind experiment in which they will have to make some decisions that will create at the end a random event, which when the box is opened...

An exceptionally clever version of the 4-Ace Trick - no trick aces - use a borrowed deck.

In effect the 4 aces are dealt singly on to the table, face down. Twelve indifferent cards are then shown and dealt on to them, making four packets, one of which is chosen by a spectator. No force of any kind, believe it or not, he takes any of the four packets. The remaining three are turned over to show all indifferent cards. The four Aces are in the packet chosen. An easy and effective multiphase routine with a Svengali deck. A spectator is correct continually in finding a previously selected card which the performer underlines with the punch line "How Right You Are."

You deal four hands of cards. The first card for each hand is an ace followed by four indifferent cards. However, magically all the aces assemble in the performer's packet.

Spectator cuts the deck into four piles of approximately the same size. Performer puts one ace on each pile, assembles the piles and without any funny business the aces end up at the very top of the assembled pile.

An impromptu version of the classic 'Free Will' combined with a short and simple reading that makes it unforgettable.

The magician introduces a deck of cards to the audience. He produces two jacks from the deck, and explains that they are going to help the magician to find the selected card.

He then asks a volunteer to select any card from the deck. The card is signed, and lost somewhere towards the center of the pack.

The magician then starts to shake the two jacks above the pack, and something amazing happens. One card materializes in between the two jacks. Unfortunately the card sandwiched in between the two jacks is the wrong card.

EFFECT: A spectator shuffles a packet of number cards as much as he wants and deals through it to create a random number. Then, he deals through a blue-backed deck of playing cards (in which the magician put a red-backed prediction) and stops at his number. Let's say his card is the 7 of Clubs. Unbelievably, the red-backed prediction is the 7 of Clubs!
