Determine the card selected and the sum cast with two dice in a novel and very deceptive way.

You show a deck of cards, shuffle it and while you look away the spectator throws the two dice, adds the points shown, removes that many cards and remembers the lowest card in the removed packet. The dice are covered so that the performer can't see them. Now comes the unusual thing. The removed packet is inserted by the spectator somewhere in the middle of the pack. • ... effect with the second prediction coming as a surprise, despite the fact that you state you have two predictions at the outset! In effect; from a set of cards that spell the word 'prediction' a spectator freely selects any four in an attempt to form a new word. The four cards can form the word 'dice'. Your prediction is revealed as two dice. The cards also have numbers on their backs. So now a second spectator selects one of the remaining cards. It might bear the number 7. What is the total of your 2 dice? Seven!

This was Werner Miller's first English publication and it holds 51 astonishing tricks, all based on clever mathematical principles. You will find next to tricks with cards, numbers, and dice also topological tricks with paper and cardboard.

One of my favorite tricks is called "Quick Change Square" where a 4x4 square changes from a non-magic square to a magic square in a flash. In "Crazy Square", Werner combines the olde "Chinese Compass" with the "magic square" and produces a witty, lively piece. This is the second DVD featuring Rachel Colombini. It includes a special guest appearance by the one and only Patrick Page. This is great magic and easy to do.

Here are the routines:

• SIGNED, SEALED AND DELIVERED (Rachel Colombini): A torn and restored card routine that will floor your audience.

The performer says prior to the show, he jotted down some "Random Thoughts" and place them inside an envelope. He shows the audience this envelope and places it in full view before the effect begins. Any spectator is invited to help. No stooges or pre-show work.

The participant is then shown an ungimmicked sheet of newspaper. The performer then tears that newspaper sheet in half four times resulting in a stack of torn papers. This stack is placed on a table. The spectator then counts down into the packet, using a number that was arrived at by throwing a pair of ungimmicked dice. The number...

A shuffled ESP deck is placed on the table. A spectator rolls a pair of dice until satisfied. Using the total on the dice, the spectator deals down into the deck, and places the card at that number off to the side unseen. The deck is reassembled, and a second spectator repeats the process. The Plaid-Eared Rabbit: Someone selects a card and cuts it back into the deck - all with the cards in their own hands. You introduce a small box containing 6 differently coloured dice. Someone selects 2 of the colours and writes them down. With your back turned, they put their 2 coloured dice into the box and replace the lid, which you now shake up. Using the sum of the numbers showing on the 4 tabled dice and the 2 in the box... the previously selected card is discovered! ...
