It is a version that makes sense. The magician explains that as a child at summer vacation, he learned how to lasso mosquitoes, and he got so good at it, that he learned to actually snap the knot for the lasso onto the rope mid-air. And he thought he'd turn that skill into a trick.

The magician has a card selected. This card is returned to the deck and shuffled by the spectator. After some byplay, the magician drops the cards into a paper bag, puts one end...

A combination of "Disposable Color" and "B'Wave", both classics by Max Maven, makes each trick stronger and more fool-proof with just the addition of some scripting ideas and a few simple handling changes.

A very visual version of the "detective" theme that is perfect for stage, parlor, and closeup. Adding another card allows this to become a sandwich effect. The deck can be borrowed, shuffled, and card signed.

A paper bag gets inspected, and 3 cards are chosen and put on display on the volunteer's body. A different deck is shuffled and dropped into the paper bag, and the spectator shakes the bag to shuffle the cards. Reaching into the bag, and without looking, 2 of the matching cards are found. The third card – the bigger card - is found because it is a jumbo card.

The magician removes a BLUE backed card from his pocket as he talks about coincidence, and how coincidence is decided by two factors: physical proximity and time. He has someone sit on the card. He then removes a RED backed deck from his pocket, and spreads the cards out front and back...

This is one of the earliest publications which has Burling Hull's Svengali deck described. Hull called it originally the "Cards Mysterious". Even in this early publication he complains about unauthorized copies being sold by unscrupulous dealers. A hundred years later and nothing has changed. We still have magic retailers and manufacturers producing and selling illegal and unauthorized copies of magic products.

One thing has changed though over the last 100 years - the use of Bicycle cards. Hull writes:

Look into a deck without looking.

While your back is turned, spectator deals cards off a deck that they shuffled while you wait for them to reach a card that you 'sense' might be near their card. Then they are to deal a few cards from that spot onto the table side by side and they are to hover their hand over each one - your back still turned - while you tell them to slam their hand on a certain one.
