(6th May 1943 - )
When Hideo was thirteen years old, he purchased a book of card magic for beginners but he didn't have a deck of cards. He went to a department store to buy one and asked a saleslady, 'Where can I buy a deck of
cards?' She asked, 'What are you going to use it for?' he answered, 'To perform magic.' She pointed to a corner of the store where there was a Tenyo Magic Counter. He had never known that magic apparatus was sold to the general public. He bought a set of Multiplying Billiard Balls and both marked and
stripper decks. This was the beginning of his magic career.
He went to work part-time as a magic demonstrator for Tenyo when he was nineteen years old while attending...
At an early age, T.G. demonstrated exceptional skill at games of chance, particularly card games. In grade school he scourged the seniors, in high school he frequented the fraternities, in college he challenged the career businessmen, and in graduate school he gallivanted to the gaming tables of Las Vegas.
Learning from observing cheats in action, T.G. discovered and mastered the mechanics of the cardsharps as well as developed his own unrivaled style of shearing the sheep for slaughter. If provoked by being cheated, he believed it was open season, and could he ever lay a trap.
T.G. later decided that gambling and especially cheating were not in the cards. He believed that nerves of...
... entranced by the shiny boxes, rice bowls, colorful silks in the pages within. On weekends, Cameron would beg his father to drive him to the magic store where he would spend all of his hard earned allowance money on whatever exotic props he could afford. From elementary school up until he left for college, Cameron put these props to good use and performed his share of birthday parties, school events and Cub Scout meetings. During college, however, magic fell to the wayside as he spent more time focusing on becoming an actor (Plus it was really hard to get a date wearing a ruffled shirt and black cape).
One day, while attending graduate school in Washington D.C., Cameron stumbled into a...

The Royal Road to Card MagicJean Hugard & Fred Braue The younger generation of card magicians probably knows or has heard of Card College by Roberto Giobbi. The Royal Road to Card Magic is very similar but of older vintage and doesn't cover as much ground. It introduces the novice into the art of card magic one move and principle at a time, always with tricks accompanying the moves. It is therefore not a mindless list of moves but a well prepared and thought out textbook. It will take the beginner to an intermediate level. Once The Royal Road to Card Magic has been mastered one can move on to Expert Card Technique which requires a higher skill level.

Dai Vernon's Inner Secrets of Card MagicLewis Ganson & Dai Vernon This is the first part of Vernon's famous Inner Secrets of Card Magic series. It includes notable work on color changes. In "Dai Vernon's Colour Changing Pack" Vernon provides the proper motivation for the use of the Hindu Shuffle: showing the back color of the deck.
