Effect:

This is not a card trick, it's a trick with cards.

The spectator freely selects, signs and returns the card from a shuffled deck. The illusionist explains that card tricks have become too complicated, and he wants to keep it simple and use just the selected card. The magician picks up the card case, still holding the deck, and shows the card case at all sides and completely empty.

The magician then places the deck square on the face of the card case. The front of the card case can be clearly seen as the cards are being placed. The card case with the deck on top is placed...

This is a 'cards through case' effect, but completely different than older versions. This effect takes a classic stage illusion and puts it in the spectator's hands.

Four random cards are selected by the spectator. The four cards are placed inside a card case and given to the spectator to hold at their fingertips.

Three of the four cards are removed, leaving the final card inside of the card case. The remaining three cards are then pushed through the side of the card case and the selected card.

This can be viewed from all angles whilst the spectator is holding the case.

An Ambitious Card routine which cleverly uses the Card Box to heighten the effect.

This routine is done from a shuffled deck, under fire, and on the spot. You will never have to remember more than five words at one time so you can talk and you can concentrate on your presentation. There is only one condition – you must know Benedykt's mnemonic system from Her Majesty the Magic of Cards.

• The deck is shuffled and can be borrowed.

This is a new "Oil and Water" routine in which the magic happens in a mysterious way because each movement of the magician is really very slow and clear.

All begins with 4 mixed pairs of cards, one red and one black, being shown and put on the table. Then the magician simply shows the first four cards on top, and all their suits become magically the same color.

Now the magician will alternate on the table, not only red and black suits but also face up and face down cards. When he squares the deck, just a few seconds later, again the cards mysteriously have separated themselves into red...

Imagine that a spectator freely shuffles a deck of cards, then randomly picks any 4 cards and from them freely decides which one to choose. The assistant delivers into the right hand of the medium, whose back was turned the whole time, the three remaining cards, and she, studying them for a few moments, will be able to guess the chosen card. Not only that but, repeating the experiment with a second spectator, she will guess the chosen card after simply having the three discarded cards announced by her assistant.

The performer reclaims the balance of the pack then asks the spectator to fan the seven cards he holds faces towards himself.

A couple of years ago, at the Genii and 31 Faces North conventions, I was showing some in-the-hands packet effects that used a new technique and getting amazed reactions quite out of proportion with what I expected.
