Mainly Close UpPaul HallasMainly Close Up was Paul Hallas's first book published in 1979 and has been unavailable for around 30 years. Rather than just copy the book for an e-version it was re-typed and some corrections made and additional comments made from a 2013 perspective. Some of the original sketches have been left, others removed as not necessary and occasionally some photos added. Twenty seven ideas are described (though a couple will need patter updates) and it is perhaps Paul's most varied collection. As the title suggests, the book is mainly close up, and mostly cards, but also a couple of coin items, a stretching... | ★★★★★ $10 to wish listPDF |

Daley BredJon RacherbaumerA study of Daley's Aces its history and spin-offs.
This treatise is a compilation of methods for performing a simple transposition of pairs of cards - namely the red and
black Aces. The basic plot has a checkered history and, despite being associated with Dr. Jacob Daley, there are lots of tangled connective tissue and ancestral than meets the eye.
Besides these aspects, you will discover that this treatise is a rich mixture of memes. That is, there are lots of bits and pieces to play with and, if you are the kind of student that likes to study the history of a trick and then work through... | ★★★★★ $12 to wish listPDF |

Confidential Mental SecretsGene Marvin... telling them differently.
Mental magic should never be as "strong" a trick as magic. In other words, what you do must be believable. You can stretch "their" imagination only so far, for they must be able to accept the fact that you "have the power." If you did a magic trick in which 5 different cards were laid on the table face down, a 6th card was sealed in an envelope which matches one of the 5 on the table, then a selection made by the spectator, and when that card was turned face-up, the card in the envelope removed, and that card matched, this would not be a very strong trick. But,... | $20 to wish listPDF |
Card SelectionPeter Duffie... back to back principle used belongs to Leo Horowitz (Daley Notebooks).
THE PSYCHIC SPELLER: A no-questions-asked routine where a spectator thinks of any card in a packet of several, then magically finds it.
A FAR OUT FARO CHART FOR FARO FANTASIZERS
THE MAGIC SHUFFLE: This effect uses fifteen cards and if you look at the table you will see that with the previous EVEN number - 14 - the cards at positions 5 and 10 remain after any number of OUT Faros. Because the quantity here is one more this means that the shuffle will be a Straddle Faro.

THE FLEEING ACES: The four Aces travel from one half of the deck to the other and capture a previously selected card.
FOUR TO THE FORE: A spelling effect based on an Henry Christ premise. Two single Bottom Deals are required but they happen on the off-beat and a fine technique is not necessary.

FFFF Lecture 2003Boris Wild... in which the magician predicts the winner of the "Miss Bikini" beauty contest!
Chain Reaction
The magician shows a double-backed deck on both sides and cut it in two halves. He turns one packet over and shuffles it into the other. He snaps his fingers, spreads the deck and all the backs of the cards are now upwards! What a triumph! Of course it was a gag and the magician wonders what kind of trick he can do with such a deck to perform something much stronger. Suddendly, he has an idea: he takes five cards out of the deck, puts them in a row on his mat and leaves the rest of the doublebacked... | $10 to wish listPDF |
Impossible MattersR. ShaneThese are two very interesting self-working effects, both based on topological principles. You do not need to learn any math or remember a whole lot to perform these two stunning effects. (These two effects have been taken from Shane's books Automata and Pentalogy.)
Paradoxical Oddities
A packet of cards, the twenty cards making up a royal flush, is given to a spectator to shuffle. The spectator then chooses one of the values (say, for example, Jacks), and the cards mixed so that some are face up and some face down. The packet is further mixed by the spectator, eventually being divided into... | ★★★★★ $6 to wish listPDF |
Card College LightRoberto Giobbi... Although other ebooks consider the same type of material, their approaches to it are quite different from Giobbi's.
Most of the tricks taught are from Mr. Giobbi's active professional repertoire, with which he baffles the public and magicians, too. Every trick can be done with any deck of cards of average quality, and many can be done under all performance conditions, with a borrowed deck and no preparation. With these sleightless tricks, you can easily acquire a reputation as a magician who can really make magic.
