In my last two manuscripts (both available from Lybrary.com) I had experimented with a format, where the reader had to just print, cut and perform the effects. These were all packet "card" tricks, but in making up the tricks I was impressed with the very professional and commercial results one could easily achieve with just a color inkjet printer and some artboard. With the proliferation of PCs and color printers in almost every home, this seemed like a very viable distribution...

A person thinks of any card, mixes the deck any way they want, squares it up so that the holes are all the way through, cuts to any question card, answers the question and performs the action. In no more than 6 actions, the spectator themselves finds the playing card they thought of.

The deck works in such a way that the answers to the questions will lead the person to their thought-of card in 100% of the cases. This is hellishly cool.

On stage; a table, 5 chairs and a deck of cards. 5 players (spectators) come up to play a hand of blackjack. Cards are shuffled by a random player and re-cased to avoid any tampering by the performer as he explains about blackjack. No false shuffles. No Sleights. One player deals a face-down card to each player followed by a face-up card.

The Kicker:

All players are given the option to switch seats.

The Climax:

The performer tells about a vision he had that morning of a person playing blackjack and receiving the same hand, over and over again from the dealer. He then names out...

You punch a hole thru the corner of two signed playing cards. You clearly show both sides of the playing cards and instantly link them together! But that's not enough. You tear off one corner and make it vanish only to appear inside of the signed playing card while the spectator holds the cards in his hands! The corner matches perfectly. Give the cards away as a Souvenir. They will find nothing. Perform it close up and stand up. The gimmick is easy to build.
