Al Koran convinced Rovi that it was the easy-to-follow plot with a strong magical impact for which there appeared to be no explanation, that had the greatest impression on audiences. Rovi has followed that dictum with great success, devising routines of his own, all of which are styled to entertain. This is one of the easiest four-of-a-kind productions with no finger-flicking moves or flourishes.

Effect: Spectator freely names a number between 10 and 20. After some byplay and counting the cards in the process, the spectator unknowingly produces the four Kings.

Effect:

You remove 10 cards from the deck and play a Poker game with your spectator. Here the magician deals cards and allows a spectator to freely choose the face down cards that they wish to build their hand from. During the last deal, the spectator gets to look at his existing hand and choose from the remaining cards to build the best hand. Alas, the magician wins even though the spectator did all of the choosing. The magician will always get a royal flash.

All the court cards are found in a borrowed deck repeatedly and genuinely shuffled by the spectators. The performer first produces the Kings, then the Jacks, and lastly the Queens.

The deck is shuffled by a member of the audience. The cards are inserted in a trouser pocket. One at a time the Kings are produced. The spectator shuffles again the pack of cards. The performer puts it behind his back and produces the four Jacks. Again, the cards are genuinely shuffled by the spectator. This is a take on the Twisting Aces plot with a kicker climax where the four of a kind change into a Royal Flush.

The four tens are taken out of the pack and displayed one by one. Repeatedly twisting the pack turns one of the tens face up. At the very end the cards change into a Royalt Flush.

ABOUT RUB-A-DUB: The rhyme is of a type calling out otherwise respectable people for disrespectable actions, in this case, ogling naked ladies - the maids. The nonsense "Rub-a-dub-dub" develops a phonetic association of social disapprobation, analogous to "tsk-tsk," albeit of a more lascivious variety.

The Rub-a-Dub Move's inauspicious beginning began in 1909 at a time when, relatively speaking, magicians had a limited number of utilitarian sleights and techniques at their disposal. The four aces are openly removed and tossed onto the table. A card is chosen by the spectator and lost in the deck. The spectator chooses either the red or black aces to proceed. Let us assume he chose the red aces. The magician proclaims that as he waves the red aces over the deck, the chosen card will appear sandwiched between the aces. After a couple of attempts, nothing happens. Then the red aces turn into two jokers. When the deck is spread, the red aces are found reversed with the chosen card sandwiched between them. As a parting shot, the chosen card is found to be predicted on the back...

Two Jokers are removed from a red deck which is replaced into its cardbox. Spectator 1 places it in his pocket. You write two predictions on the backs of the Jokers and table them.
