As close to real billet-less name guess.
Imagine... In the course of a routine, during a close up performance, you get the spectator to focus on the name of someone close to them. They name a few random letters, including letters from the name. The name is not written down anywhere and exists only in their mind. And you instantly tell them the name they are thinking of.
This is exactly what you DO. There are no billets, tears or peeks. Simply the words you use and the illusion they create, are all you need to be able to accurately guess a name, most of the time. Like real mind reading,...

[Eddie Joseph and George Armstrong both published this effect in 1949 under the same name: Premonition. The effects are identical and the methods are also pretty much identical except some minor details. Since George Armstrong describes his inspiration and when and where he developed it, while Eddie Joseph does not, I believe George Armstrong to be the inventor of this method. George Armstrong's inspiration was an effect from Greater Magic by Bill McCaffrey. But already Hofzinser has a similar routine Domination of Thought from his Card Conjuring.
A spectator names a card. He is asked to take a pack of cards from the table, remove them...
"Dee shared with me this concept and I must say that is really something smart and revolutionary. Being able to spark your own creativity and let the book fit your persona as performer and not in reverse. I did this years ago with my own book tests (in Spanish) but in here Dee is giving you all that work and much more. I recommend without a doubt this great release." - Pablo Amira (Mentalism Author)
"You should be charging WAY more for this!!" - Alan Rorrison (Consultant for Dynamo & Troy TV shows)
The book test is a classic in mentalism and mental magic. Every professional show demonstrating the power...
[Note: Rohit Gupta contacted us in 2018 that he created and published the same method in 2014, predating this publication. We checked and he indeed published it at that time and should therefore be credited as the originator of this method. Rupesh Thakur maintains that he independently created the method, which for anybody who is familiar with Facebook would not be that hard.]

Honesty. Integrity. These words form the foundation of our society. Without people being honest and without people having integrity, our world would crumble into a place of bad intentions and negative actions. In this routine, you will apparently hypnotize a spectator to not resist lying, even when pressed to tell the truth. Good thing it’s just “hypnosis”, as your power to control the intentions and actions of people in this act will have people believing that you can truly alter the way in which society operates in a world characterized by both truth and deceit.
Specifically, you...
It is impossible nowadays to be a magician or mentalist and not perform an effect with a phone, smartphone, ipad, laptop, etc. It is also perfectly justifiable to use it as a prediction, as an out, a cueing system, a cribsheet, a storyboard, etc.
This bundle is about phones, but it also contains original effects, ideas and principles, sometimes combined with classic ones, and some of them can be applied to your existing routines, or sometimes without a phone. The Mimosa principle will transform your smart phone into an extremely powerful tool that you can use as a multiple out system or emergency...

One of the most visual and comical mental effects you will find. Invite three people to help you. These are not stooges and there has been no pre-show work.
Mentalist states that the two most talked about things among strangers are the weather and sports. They go hand-in-hand, as the weather often affects sports. You then show a CD prediction and place it in a CD player. You say this contains a prediction that will hopefully match a weather forecast the spectators will form at random.
You ask the first person to name one of his favorite sports. Assume he says: Golf. This is written on...

From the audience point of view, this effect will look completely improvised as you present it with nothing. Just their fingers and yours. It really blows people's minds (laymen and magicians alike).
Finger burn: Ask a spectator to show you any finger; and put it over a candlelight or an invisible lighter. Your same finger will carry a blister even though your hands were apparently in full view all the time.
Voodoo finger: A variation to give away your business card.

Instantly give any spectator psychic powers! This is a stage size version of Devin Knight's best-selling Poker Tells. Considered by many to be one of his most baffling effects to date. This new version uses jumbo 5 x 7 inch playing cards so it can be seen from a stage. No longer a close-up item, but a stand-up item of mentalism that will fry any audience. The handling is different from the close-up version, so if you want to do this on stage, you need this PDF.
The performer states that some card players seem to have psychic abilities. These card players can correctly sense the cards in an...

From the introduction:
Anyone who's ever seen the late, great Al Koran's use of the sex detector or swinging pendulum which is nothing more than a weight on a piece of string, knows how fascinating and impressive it is. Here is a complete routine of tricks with the sex detector, that can run a full 15 minutes. An array of eight varied tricks, all apparently accomplished by use of the Pendulum with a most impressive finale. While the sex detector seems to accomplish each miracle, it can be thoroughly examined because there's absolutely no gimmick to be discovered. There's a pseudo-scientific approach...

Now you can learn from the master with this amazing collection of over 300 of Kara's answers to questions, just as audiences would have received them back in his day. Not only that, but the questions themselves can be used for practice purposes, to hone your own answering abilities...
[Note: This effect was already part of Mentalism games.
Effect: A spectator names any card, and you immediately produce it from your pocket.
Or: You write two cards on two business cards, put one in each pocket, and the spectator has to guess at least one of them. (It can be repeated right away if you want).
The method is 100% surefire and practical. There is no math, no probabilities, a little bit of memorization, but it is almost "intuitive". It is not difficult but needs a bit of rehearsal at the beginning, like for everything. It looks casual, completely impromptu, or even improvised, but you will have to do a onetime preparation with...
