The effect is pretty simple and straight forward. A card is selected. In fact, the spectator can change his mind and select a different card! The spectator then signs the card across its face. The card is then folded into quarters with the face side out, so that both the identity of the card and the signature can be seen throughout the performance. This routine appeared in The Art Of Close-Up Magic Vol. 1 written by Lewis Ganson. A Chinese bowl is shown empty and placed mouth downwards on the table, sponge balls appear and multiply repeatedly. Eventually there is a fruit or production. A top class routine that was performed by the late Fred Kaps in his close-up routines. This is Stephen's stage size Find the Lady Routine using any three ungimmicked, any size cards. It can be done close-up with playing cards or business cards. It can be done on stage with A2 size cards with cartoon pictures on them or images of the company logo. The possibilities are endless.
