Here's a fun trick that has everyone laughing and a cool twist at the end provides the magic. It's self-working and perfect for either close-up or stage.

The effect: A prediction in a bag is placed on the table - the top of a pineapple is sticking out of the top. A selection of cards is shown - each has the name of a fruit on its face. A spectator freely selects any card - they select: 'Orange'. Oh no, that's not going to work! But then a great twist means the magician manages to save face. I started from Karl Fulves' idea called "Voodoo Cards", published on pp. 588-589 of The Pallbearers Review, Vol. 5-8 (November 1969 - October 1973), where a series of five effects proposed as bets are described, with the use of only three cards or tickets written on the spot. Vanish small objects such as a coin, sponge ball, poker chip, card corner from your bare hand.

The construction of the gimmick requires some arts and crafts. The method produces a sound that you need to be able to mask with music or some other way. Also, you will have to watch your angles. This method works fine for a social media video or perhaps on stage but is otherwise not very practical.

A magician shows a card with cut-out pips and puts it into a playing card box. The spectator selects a card. When the magician takes out the cut-out pips card from the case and shows it one more time, it suddenly changes to a card without cut-out pips, and when turned face-up it has changed into the spectator's card.

This routine was presented some time ago and now, after having faced various situations, both on stage, in the parlor and in the living room, the time has come to apply some modifications which simplify the conduction of the effect, which can be proposed in close up, in person, on the phone (audio only) or on stage: three different and interesting ways for the same effect.

The method used is explained in detail, so that the effect can be modeled by the performer and repeated immediately afterward, making it difficult to immediately understand the method used.
