This is a completely impromptu ACAAN. The spectator names any number and freely remembers a random card. In the end, the remembered card appears exactly at the named position.
However, I prefer to think of it as a card control system - a method for controlling a merely remembered card to any desired position with no setup whatsoever. Without question, this concept can take your card magic to the next level.
Performance transcript:
This is an impromptu ACAAN routine.
The deck can be thoroughly shuffled at the start. No setup required.
QUAD CUT COUNT: A spectator cuts the deck into four piles in an attempt to cut to the Aces. He fails. However, using the four random cards he did cut to he ends up with all four Aces.
DYING TIME: You use six playing cards which represent the six sides of a magic electronic die. Adding the Joker which represents the battery, a mystery occurs. For previous related concepts see Roy Walton's "Eliminator in Disguise," (Magic Circular, Aug.96) and Alex Elmsley's "Eliminator" (Magic Circular, Mar.96).
THE ASSOCIATE: Here we revisit a packet elevator plot...
Includes four sections, one on mental magic, card magic, silk magic and rope and lace magic respectively. All effects are easy to perform and do not require any exotic requisites.
... spectators on both right and left. A few of the effects are original, but most of them have been picked up from friends who picked them up from friends, so it was impossible to trace them to their origin.
Since After the Dessert was such a success, Martin wrote a second booklet with similar impromptu tricks for the table: Over the Coffee Cups.
A card is freely selected and it is placed in between the four Kings. The Kings packet is then placed in the card case and the flap is closed. Performer snaps the card case with his fingers, a card seems to melt through the card case. The card case is opened and four Kings are found inside. You end clean!
No setup.
Great opener.
No gimmicks or duplicates.
It's impromptu and can be performed at any time.
The deck can be borrowed - visual magic at its best.
This is professionally illustrated which is quite rare in the days of quick shot digital cameras.
Part 2 in the ‘Fandango’ series continues with yet more innovative close up magic with the focus firmly fixed on practicality and real world performance.
Six more, never before published effects fresh from the mind of Dave Forrest. The material contained within has been carefully selected to ensure that the ‘Fandango’ ethos remains true. This is not a 'read it once' release. These are effects that you will actually use in the real world for real people.

Four Found Fast - An extremely visual yet relatively easy production of four of a kind. While it looks very flashy...
... Roy Walton's Card-Warp routine, tear through the nested duo then restore the previously 'warped' card. Stephens 'Warp Factor Two, a Card Trek' routine, found within this ebook, finally brought this dream to fruition.
Stephen had some pretty weird ideas back in the 1980s (not all to do with magic), and over the following two decades his arsenal of torn and restored effects increased, hence this publication, which contains the original material plus these additional ideas.
This entire opus, of nine routines plus various further thoughts and ideas, has now been completely updated and...
It requires some preparation, but it is worth the strong effect. Although this will take some time and effort on your part, the ebook is very detailed with photos and description.
Expect to get nervous laughs, gasps and screams, as this really is as close to true magic as anyone could hope for!
Will I have to cover up the action to hide the 'dirty work'? No. This is totally visual and happens right in front of their eyes. No funny movements or unnatural actions, just impossible close up magic in its purest form.
20 mentalism effects with a foreword by Max Maven. Out of print since 1985. Now again available as ebook.
From the foreword by Max Maven:
There is no question that Stephen Tucker has made his mark on the magic world...and it's about time someone made him clean it up!
The first time we met, I noticed that he had a streak of white hair in the center of his otherwise black coiffure. This gave him a very modern New Wave look, and I complimented him on his clever grooming.
He explained to me that the streak was not artificial, but rather an inherited family trait.
Surprisingly little has been published in an encyclopedic form about the classic rising cards in English. You can find some in Greater Magic but the rest is spread out in many books and journals. Although this publication can hardly be called an encyclopedia, it is one of only two publications in English I know which are entirely dedicated to the rising card effect (the other being 25 Rising Card Tricks). It is a wonderful collection of a number of methods, described clearly with photos and illustrations. This was part of the Supreme 'Know How' series.
The outstanding success of the historic Artful Mentalism Seminar convinced Bob Cassidy to do another similar seminar covering different topics. Michael Weber is again the host and skilfully keeps the discussion focused and informative. If you could not attend the live seminar you can now own and listen to the entire 2 hour and 20 minute recording plus receive two ebooks.
The topics Bob and Michael cover are:
A short recap of the last seminar with the major points repeated.

Coin magic is usually very difficult to perform, and requires sleight of hand and manipulation. In this ebook, you will find seven very strong coin routines requiring NO SLEIGHTS AT ALL and totally impromptu using ordinary coins. We predict you will never stop doing them. Although in the description Aldo use American coins, any coins from any country can be used and can be borrowed from the spectators.
Tom Mullica - 3 Impromptu Miracles: a mini act for the real world - use borrowed objects to amaze and amuse. These three anywhere anytime effects come from Tom's repertoir.
Allan Ackerman - Double Duke Poker: an absolute killer poker routine for the gambler in everyone.
Lee Earle - Deja-vu-ing: mental magic at its best. An amazing triple prediction, climaxing with today's newspaper headlines.
Darwin Ortiz - Blind Aces: one of Darwin's classic impossible routines. Find the four aces from a borrowed, shuffled deck while a spectator is covering your eyes.
Rafael Benatar - Original Sleights: Rafael describes three...
... predicts how the red and black cards will fall when dealt from a borrowed and shuffled deck. And then, just to prove it wasn't luck, does it again with an entirely different and even more mind-blowing outcome.
There is no palming, no extra props, no sleights whatsoever and Mirabill is totally impromptu and can be done with any borrowed deck at any time. The entire effect takes place in your guest's hands and has been streamlined so it plays more quickly and with even more punch than the original!
In addition The Twist is taught, pitting two guests against one another in a unique way...
I rarely get to work on my own creations these days. 911 Summing is one of those rare occasions. It is an effect and method I have created more than 20 years ago. Both the effect and the method are to the best of my knowledge completely new and have never been published before.
This is a math effect I have had a lot of fun with. It can even be performed as puzzle challenge rather than a magic effect. I have performed this for people twice as smart as myself - engineers, scientists, researchers, professors - you name it. Not once has anybody figured out how it is done, even though, the principle...
Mantra continues where Swami left off with fascinating mix of traditional Indian magic and western style magic. Sam Dalal writes in his introduction:
...One of the reasons for the popularity of these magazines is that much of it is devoted to a branch
of bizarre or geek magic, not normally covered in the regular magic publications....
I am delighted with the way Chris Wasshuber (Lybrary.com) has produced this electronic version
of the Swami and Mantra magazines. When Chris Wasshuber asked me just a few weeks ago if he could produce the magazines as an e-book for circulation...
... (Aldo Colombini): The Jacks turn face down one at a time, then they change into the four Aces and the Jacks reappear in the middle of the deck.
DISTINGUISHED (Cameron Francis): A small packet triumph effect.
STENDARDO (Aldo Colombini): A four-ace assembly which involves three selected cards.
IMPROMPTU DUPED (Cameron Francis): Based on Darwin Ortiz’s “Jumping Gemini,” this multi-phased shocker is sure to get great responses, and it is easy to do.
STINGRAY (Aldo Colombini): A strong transposition between four Jacks and three freely selected cards.
"Hold that Ghost and Thanks to Walton just slapped me in the face with the hand of awesome. I'm always looking for new ways to get the Aces into play, and Thanks to Walton is my new best friend." - CrestfallenLyric (review from the Magic Cafe)
