A new way to lift a wallet. It's not what you think.

You won't believe the video. This is an ultra-visual, realistic levitation of your spectator's wallet, without thread. You levitate their wallet after asking if he's seen the various ways of 'lifting' wallets (pickpocket style). You offer to demonstrate a new method on his wallet, needing to see his wallet first to see if it's the "right type," just an excuse for you to lay the wallet on the table (or whatever surface) and make it lift.

For the time this was published, in the middle of the 19th century, these twelve lessons in magic are probably one of the best instructions in conjuring published in the English language, even though the intended reading audience was young folks. Latest Magic is the last book in Hoffmann's series Modern Magic, More Magic and Later Magic. Hoffmann had quite some problem finding a publisher for this book. The reason being the quality of the contents. When Modern Magic came out it explained new tricks and tricks which were performed at the time. Thus it was indeed 'modern'. It is also without a doubt the best book in the series. Latest Magic describes Hoffmann's own creations and dealt with a magic which was already considered old fashioned. From a historical perspective it still makes quite an interesting read.

The Effect: The magi removes his house key from his key chain and entrusts the spectator with the remainder of his keys. The magus then promptly causes the house key to vanish and reappear on the key ring in the spectator's hand. Sleeves up, no holding out, completely clean vanish. Watch the Demo. This was another big hit of Jeff's on Underground Jam. The particular vanish (a Richard Ross idea) used for the key is the big killer that really inspired a lot of magicians.
