A packet of cards is introduced for a "kind of" poker game in which the spectator cannot lose. The magician explains he has two rewards for him. At the end of the dealings, if the spectator's hand beats the magician's, he gets a $20 bill. If his hand is a royal flush, he gets the magician's credit card. And if the magician's hand beats the spectator's, nobody loses anything. Fair enough?

The cards are then dealt accordingly to the spectator's choices between the magician and him - five cards each. When the spectator spreads his cards face up on the table, he has four cards from a royal flush...

A simple and easy, but, effective way of doing the famous, or infamous, Three Card Monte. The effect where three cards are placed on a table and the 'money' card keeps appearing or disappearing!

Using the story-line of Field Marshal Montgomery's attempts, during WWII, to keep the enemy guessing where he was, you use the cards to illustrate the story and allow you to use a very bad pun.

Here is a different approach to the classic Out Of This World effect. It does away with stacked decks and having to change the color of the indicator card in the middle of the deal. The participants can shuffle the deck before the effect begins.

Effect: The performer shows a deck of cards and four opaque envelopes. He invites two participants, a man and a woman, to test their psychic abilities. The performer points out that a woman is normally drawn to red cards, because of the hearts and diamonds. A man, on the other hand, seems to be drawn to...

This effect has nothing to do with hammers or smashing things. It does have to do with the aces, however. The title came about because David was listening to Cannibal Corpse while He was playing around with this routine, and the song that was on was, "Hammer Smashed Face". That is enough about the weird title.

Here is the effect (and what an effect!):

The four aces (or four selections) are signed and placed aside. A fifth unknown card is selected and placed face down between two jokers, which are then placed into the card box. The aces are then shown once again, and are then cleanly shuffled...

FACTS
An ACAAN-variation. The magician introduces two decks of cards: one has a blue back, the other red. The blue deck is shuffled and tabled. The red deck is numbered from 1 to 52 on the back of the cards. The spectator cuts to a random card in the shuffled red deck and selects another random card. The spectator turns any of the two red cards face up and the other one face down. By using the number on the back of the red-backed card, the spectator deals a pile from the blue-backed deck.
