The performer removes a card that has plenty of white space on its face from the deck – say, the Two of Hearts - and writes a prediction on the face of this card with a marker pen. The prediction is left face down on the table. A spectator now selects a card from the deck (say the JS), after which the card is lost back into the deck. The deck is now given to a second spectator who - only now - names ANY number. To keep the routine moving along you suggest he thinks of any number between 1 and 30. He...

A card is selected, signed and lost back into the deck. Taking only the 4 Jacks (deck discarded), you perform the cleanest of Twisting routines - with the Jacks reversing one by one with no false counts.

The black Jacks are now placed into the card case - there is no doubt at all that they do go into the case - leaving the red Jacks, "These will now magically produce your signed card." The spectator holds the red Jacks but nothing happens. Or does it. On turning his two cards over he finds he is now holding the black Jacks! You remove from your pocket four sections of a large, full-color, treasure map and jig-saw them together. There are 58 possible locations, and someone is asked to imagine that they have buried all their worldly goods at one of these locations.

You now start to deduce, letter-by-letter, the name of their thought of location. Everybody is familiar with the game of word association. One person thinks of a word, then the next person says another word that can somehow be associated with it, and so it continues. For example: Frog - Green - Apple - Tree - Squirrel etc.

This is a new Any Card at Any Number effect in which (apparently) the spectator does all of the work, and it happens all in his hands. Here is the effect as the audience sees it: The deck is shuffled by a spectator. The performer has any spectator think of any number between one and fifty-two, but not to reveal it to anyone until asked by the performer. Nothing is written down. The number is simply thought...
