This is a wonderful course in seven lessons to improve your memory. It covers all fundamentals and shows how to apply these mnemotechnic tools to remember for example names, faces, spelling and numbers. It also gives applications for magic tricks. You will learn how to memorize a shuffled deck of 52 cards or how to remember the knight tour on the chess board. It is likely that Roth was a magician himself, since he mentions his friend Henry Hatton from Magicians' Tricks fame. Dai Vernon learned from this course and mentions it on the Revelations video tapes.

This is a great book to get started on 'reading somebody from the cards'. It is also a great source for stories to go along with your magic tricks. It explains what each card signifies and even has a chapter on the history of cards. The bulk of the book is devoted to the various methods of reading cards, the French method, the Italien method, the Master method or Etteilla's Method.

Offering to demonstrate a secret exercise that master pickpockets use to sharpen their skills, a small coin purse, a half dollar and a metal washer are given out for examination. The magician explains that the idea is to place the half dollar in the purse, which he does, and cause it to change places with the washer. Hallucination is Andrew's first packet trick that is very easy to do and highly entertaining.

Basically, this effect involves four Queens and you magically cause any two Queens to penetrate with the other two Queens visually.

At the end, you cause all the Queens to vanish magically leaving the blank cards on the table!

There is no slit or any special cut-out card at all in this effect.

This is an entertaining, commercial trick bearing a mystery card plot, with the spectator playing the magician and a color-changing finale that packs a wallop.

The spectator shuffles and selects a card from a blue deck under test conditions. This is the prediction. The magician shuffles the red deck, chooses a card, and signs it. The signed card miraculously matches the prediction. As a kicker finish, the magician causes the signature to jump from the red card to the blue card.

The spectator finds their card in an incredible way, with a stunning kicker revelation.

The jokers are given to a spectator to hold, then a card is selected. The chosen card is shuffled and lost in the deck. The cards are spread face down and the spectator freely inserts the jokers face up around any single card, isolating it from the rest. This mystery card is now turned over to reveal that, incredibly, it is their selected card. The effect could end right here, but in an unexpected finale, the jokers are turned over to reveal a jaw-dropping prediction.
