Mental Fooler is a great and direct effect. It looks like you really know how to read the spectator's mind. The most important element is that you can do this with a borrowed shuffled deck. Everything is done with the cards face down. You take a borrowed deck of cards and remove a couple of cards. While you are turned away the spectator first shuffles these cards and then only thinks of one of them. This is a great book written by one of the greatest magicians of all time, Robert-Houdin. He describes in his own words his development from a little boy to a star performer. Four Kings are placed on the table and three cards are placed onto them. The first King vanishes and now you have two Kings in the second packet. They vanish and you now have three Kings on the third packet. They vanish and in the fourth packet you have….the four Aces! The Kings are found on top of four other packets!

Take one card and place it on top of the card box. With a wave of the hand the card melts through the box and appears in the middle of the deck. The effect is so convincing that the spectator will think it is an optical illusion.

A card is freely selected and it is placed in between the four Kings. The Kings packet is then placed in the card case and the flap is closed. Performer snaps the card case with his fingers, a card seems to melt through the card case. The card case is opened and four Kings are found inside. You end clean!
