S. W. Erdnase
The Erdnase Notebook by S. W. Erdnase

This is the workers edition of Erdnase's The Expert at the Card Table. Produced as a letter sized three ring binder so that one can insert note pages anywhere one wishes to take notes, printed in large font (16pt) on heavy coated durable paper, so that it can be read from a distance.

David Malek, who came up with this specially designed format, explains in his introduction:

... I thought of an oversized edition, one that would lie flat on the table and be big enough to read from a foot or more away. The advantage of size would also facilitate working through the book with cards in hand, while having your eyes on the text and...

Hans Trixer & Wolfgang Riebe
Card to Paper Wallet by Hans Trixer & Wolfgang Riebe

There are so many versions of the Card in Wallet - yet none as unique as this one. A freely signed and selected card appears in a paper wallet that happens to be a sheet of paper openly folded into the shape of a wallet right in front of the spectator.

Forget leather wallets. Forget trick wallets. No duplicates, just plain powerful magic with a regular deck and a sheet of A4/US-letter paper that is folded into a wallet. The 'simplicity' of the wallet and the fact that the spectator checks everything themselves makes this effect mind-blowing.

Original concept by Hans Trixer and developed...

Paul A. Lelekis
Paradoxes by Paul A. Lelekis

Three beautiful routines, complete with 5 videos, an intro discussing paradoxes, as well as numerous examples, and plenty of paradoxical pictures and phrasings for your enjoyment.

When we, as magicians perform, we do things that are unlikely, improbable, or perhaps even artistic. When we perform paradoxes, we create events that are not just unlikely to occur ... but are, instead, absolutely impossible!

These routines are seriously strong closers (or can be used as powerful openers) and will fool even the most knowledgeable of magicians ... if they are not already familiar with them. Paul...

1 Dollar Card Through Window by Ralf (Fairmagic) Rudolph

A playing card missing a corner melts through a window glass pane.

Once the card has melted through the glass the spectator can touch the glass. This method is very quick and cheap to make, about $1, and thus the name of the trick. Works with any glass pane that is not too thick.

[Note: The $1 cost statement assumes you have common supplies available when it comes to gaffing cards, such as double sided tape, invisible thread, etc. If you do not have these available then it will cost you more, because you will likely have to purchase more than you actually need for this one gimmick. Also keep in mind that most will incur shipping costs to stock up on these supplies.]

Bob Farmer
Bammo Brain Bamboozler: Bammo Gaffus Maximus Addendum 1 by Bob Farmer

An astounding encephalonic effect. Combines telepathy, teleportation and ancient Egyptian witchcraft (well, okay, that last thing about the witchcraft, that's not true, but the other stuff is). Officially this is the first addendum to Bammo Gaffus Maximus. Uses your brain and the brains of others. Two spectators think of cards. The first spectator's card vanishes from the deck. The magician removes one face-down card from his pocket and places it on the table. For the first time, the spectator names his card - the magician turns over the card on the table - it is the first spectator's card.

But now for the...

Michael Breggar
Dancing with the Cards by Michael Breggar

Award-winning columnist Michael Breggar is back with his signature quirky, yet amazing and professional almost-self-working effects. This time, it's all cards. As always, it's not just the tricks you learn, but the subtleties, tips and nuances to make your magic easy, astonishing and engaging.

"Michael provides recognizable forms for the simplicity and cleverness of the methods to secretly nourish the engaging and amusing themes he has chosen to anecdotally share - not as tricks per se but as congenial curiosities...which is a difference that truly makes a difference!" - Jon Racherbaumer

"Not all magic books are fun to read, but this is one that's fun to read and is as much fun to play with the pieces and create some antic fun for the audience." - Jon Racherbaumer

Wind by Mario Tarasini

A corner from a card is seen in a transparent plastic bag. Blow on it ... and the corner will disappear. The disappearance of the corner is very fast and visual. The trick works automatically, all you have to do is to blow on the bag and the corner will disappear. After the trick, the bag can be given to the spectator.

[Note that the video only explains the vanish of the corner from the transparent bag. If you want to show a card tear off a corner put it in the bag and then vanish it, you will have to figure out how to secretly introduce the gimmicked bag with a prepared corner already inside.]

Warner Perry
The Emerald Mystery by Warner Perry

An incredible Nate Leipzig card effect, now redesigned with subtlety, instead of knuckle-busting sleight of hand. A deck of cards is genuinely shuffled. The spectator then chooses a suit and removes the corresponding thirteen cards from the deck. The performer chooses another suit and likewise removes his thirteen cards. The spectator places the top card of his packet on the bottom of his packet; the magician duplicates this procedure. The spectator places his next card face down on the table. The magician does likewise. The spectator then alternately places cards on the bottom of his packet...

Elevation Ovations by Jon Racherbaumer

Although Marlo is generally credited with the Elevator plot, analysis of the action steps taken in the Four Burglars, Jacob's Ladder, and Marlo's Penetration exhibit procedural similarities and could be presented as "elevating tricks" if accompanying patter expressed the "elevator" analogy. As far as the "elevator" trope is concerned, we can credit Bill Simon for naming rights.

Flip Flop Fate by Raphaël Czaja

A very direct divination and prediction effect with two selected cards.

Two spectators freely cut to two cards. Both selections are remembered and buried into the deck. The magician points to a pair of odd-backed cards (on the table from the start) before he correctly guesses the identity of each selection and to which spectator they belong to. Finally, he turns over the pair of cards: They are a perfect match.

Easy to do. Instant reset. Can be performed before or after any other card trick. At the beginning, the spectators can freely shuffle and inspect the deck. Uses regular cards with...

Dr. Hans-Christian Solka
Gaukelwerk with Cards by Dr. Hans-Christian Solka

A new, potentially faster, method to clock a deck of cards.

'Clocking' a deck of cards means applying some kind of counting method to identify one card that has been removed from the deck. The idea is very old and dates back to at least 1708 (Jaques Ozanam's Recreations Mathematical and Physical). Typically one makes two passes through the deck. The first to identify the value of the card, and the second to identify the suit. The key in making this method deceptive is to be very fast in your counting, which is dependent on the details of the counting procedure. Dr. Solka offers a new method,...

Jon was introduced to this trick by Persi Diaconis in the 1970s. In this ebook he has traced it back to its roots, and forward to modern variations and spin-offs.

The core effect:

Card tricks suitable for stage presentation are rare. Bingo Divination can be performed successfully on a stage or in a cocktail-lounge. It is the logical, up to date version of the classic Nap Hand, without the necessary memory work or sleight-of-hand. Rehearse it carefully, paying attention to presentation, and you'll have a reputation-maker.

EFFECT: The magician introduces a pack of cards. The cards are genuinely shuffled and then dealt into two piles, one containing Clubs and Hearts, the other Spades and Diamonds. The Clubs-Hearts pile is again dealt into three face-down piles, one to...

Dunbury Delusions by Jon Racherbaumer
"It is one of the very best tricks which can be done for close-up work." - Hugard and Braue from Show Stoppers With Cards

From the Foreword:

The Dunbury Delusion has an illustrious pedigree that has been up, down, and all around the magic scene for at least 100 years. Charlie Miller's method that was published in Expert Card Technique in 1940, more or less branded his name on it, but seven year earlier Victor Farelli published a modified version ("The Partagas Sell") in Farelli's Card Magic. He did not claim paternity but credited a Spanish magician named Partagas who apparently taught him the trick in 1908.

Basic Plot:

A selection "lost" in a deck is successfully found by using three...
