From the introduction by Billy McComb:
There are TWO THINGS you've got to appreciate about this treatise.
First of all it shines through every line that it's written by a man who knows what he is talking about and has actually WORKED Shopping Malls.
The second thing is something which Mike Caldwell said to me just a few weeks ago. We were wandering around London in the McCombomobile. He pointed out the shops in a district we were going through and said, "In a few years time you won't see many shops like that around." I said, "Why?". He said, "Because it will get like the States. Everyone will...
This is a wonderful ebook to introduce a beginner to magic and teach him or her several excellent magic tricks. It covers all the necessary basics. Written by Peter Warlock, a world-wide respected master magician and widely published author in magic.
From the introduction:
The means of achieving these feats rely in the main upon simple processes, for experience has proved that the simple process seldom lets the magician down. The intricate piece of apparatus that may on occasions prove temperamental is a danger - if, or rather when, that apparatus fails, there is no mystery and likewise,...
This is a delightful departure from the standard card effect due to its ingenious patter line and startling conclusion. First conceived in the 1970s, the visual of four "cannibal" cards devouring a pair of "missionary" cards stands out in the memory of spectators. A welcomed addition to your bag of tricks.
1st edition 2021, PDF 2 pages, video 42 seconds.
A great ebook for those interested in creating their own mechanical (rough and smooth) trick decks or restoring old ones.
The mechanical decks described in the first part of this ebook were brand new when first published, and represented a value - in today's dollars - of nearly $195 if purchased from a dealer. But that's not all. In this revised and expanded edition, you also get complete instructions for making your own Brainwave and Pop-Eyed Popper decks. While you can buy them ready-made from a dealer, making them yourself allows you to create custom decks, such as with airline or other...
Tryst is a physical product that will be shipped to you and comes with PDF instructions that can be downloaded immediately from your digital shelf.
What you get: Along with the instructions PDF, you also get a set of 14 cards which are specially designed and beautifully produced. They are about the size of regular business cards.
Tryst can be played as a grand piece if you want. It has 3 phases with 3 powerful hits - more like a 3 punch knockout - a prediction, a prophecy, and a premonition. A captivating introductory patter is also provided. An alternative performance is also explained....
Who among us is not familiar with injogs and outjogs? Since the days of Erdnase, these very handy adjuncts have helped enable magicians to turn out miraculous feats of card magic.
Card man Ian Baxter offers up an unusual use for the humble injog here in his latest manuscript. This is the venerable 'STOP' trick with a difference and you will be most impressed. Positively no complicated sleights or outrageous moves in this strictly commercial adaptation of a classic. Don't pass this one up!

The Bicycle Word Test is a think-of-a-word effect that uses common props used among magicians and mentalists. The spectator is asked to think of a word using this prop and the mentalist is able to divine the word successfully.

The spectator's cut to the four sandwiches is a succession of magical effects. The magician takes his two lucky cards from the deck: the two of hearts and the two of diamonds. The spectator examines the two cards. The magician shuffles the deck and asks the spectator to cut it into four piles. This is where the fun part begins. Each time the magician approaches the two lucky cards to one of the piles, a card will mysteriously appear between the two lucky cards. The first will be a King, the second as well, and so on until you have the four Kings. It is not finished. Immediately the magician...
"I really admire Jeff Stone's approach to mentalism. His effects are not only especially powerful but also clear and undeniable. And his presentations provide strong theatrical themes while leaving plenty of room for the reader to bring their own unique style. You're in for a real treat." - Jay Sankey
"Stone Cold Mental has solid usable effects for stage and close up. I’ll be using the effects, and I predict you will too." - Joe Diamond
In this series, I'll share with you my personal collection of mentalism I've built up over the past decade and a half or so. The 13 items to follow...
Find Me If You Can is a two-phase four-card mentalism routine that starts off with exploring the spectator's capability of finding their card using their subconscious mind and finishing off with the mentalist finding the card.

The Smoking Thumb effect is one of the most magical feats possible. Made famous by Laurel and Hardy, Ade Duval, and the incomparable Fred Kaps it has become one of the most sought-after secrets of the stage performer.
Imagine reaching into the air, forming your hand into a pipe, your thumb protruding upward like a stem, and being able to create clouds of smoke at will, just as if you were smoking your thumb. Pat Page's excellent instructions will help you to do just that.
The effect is always under your control and may be used at any point in the act. No chemicals are involved and it is not technically...

Freaks, strange people, monsters, and even prodigies are some of the words used to describe the human beings that you will find in this ebook. While we realize that today many of these words might be considered "politically incorrect" we have taken the liberty of using these terms insofar as to better communicate the mindset of the sideshow people of that era. No disrespect is intended.
At the time, sideshows went by many different names, among these: dime museums of one kind or another and tent attractions, fronted by huge banners, depicting very unusual people and or animals. Curiosities...
There once was a dream world that travelled at night on a train full of possibilities. This was the Golden Age of the circus (1880-1930s). Aboard this magical train, you would find circus performers, a menagerie of exotic animals and those known as "freaks".
Also called human prodigies, the "freaks" were born with special physicalities. Among these were giants, midgets, siamese-twins, etc. All were gathered inside a giant tent known as the sideshow (or annex attraction).
Get ready to see many astonishing if not shocking pictures. The Archives of Human Prodigies is published in three...
"Tarot is a deck of cards but the Tarot represents a person. We are the Tarot and we use the Tarot because we live." (Andrea Mecchia)
I don't know if it happens to you too ... when I particularly love a project, I start to collect elements, I work on it a bit, but it always seems that something is missing ... you leave and resume the project, but that something is always missing ... then, one day, it arrives like that in one fell swoop, and makes everything good.
This is the story of this project, which I finally want to share, with the hope that it will also satisfy your desire to present...
Reviving "Between the Palms" one of Alex Elmsley's most offbeat plots. This is sort of a "locked room" mystery with playing cards.
It is an offbeat plot because the implicit aspects of effect, particularly its climax, are not immediately understood or appreciated. Yet the effect still has an emotional impact. Compared to other card tricks being done in 1952 it was very different. (Perhaps its closest cousins may be Fred Braue's "The Prechosen Chosen Card" from The Gen (February 1962) or Brother John Hamman's "Signed Card.")
Effect: The performer removes a card from the deck and, without showing its face, places it between...
